Active Week During Lockdown 2020......
After watching a series of webinars such as Stem sa Bhaile, sa Chistin, sa Gháirdín during Lockdown the staff decided to incorporate and link some of these activities with our Remote Active Week which was held on the second week of June. The Junior end asked pupils to do a Stem Activity on Monday, Dance Day on Tuesday, Cycle Day on Wednesday and finished with a NEW Obstacle Course. The Senior classes did a Scavenger Hunt on Monday, Obstacle Course Tuesday (a very popular new addition), Funny Face Challenge on Wednesday, Rock,Paper,Scissors and Throwing games on Thursday. Staff uploaded videos to give ideas and fantastic videos were sent back by many families. Joe Wicks was a huge hit with staff and kids at 9am every morning!

We were really impressed with pupils and parent engagement furing our REMOTE ACTIVE WEEK :) Some children built huge obstacle courses and recorded their activities as part of our Active Week. Then they uploaded their activities on Seesaw. Everyone walked or cycled within 5km, every day. |

Obstacle Course for Five Classes:Junior Infants- 3rd Class, Oct 15th 2019
The children in Infant and Junior Classes enjoyed the challenges of this obstacle course. They jumped over hurdles, went through a tunnel and skipped along the way. The sun even made an appearance! This activity ran all day for these classes.
All classes were involved in a four week Active Break Challenge in January 2020
Every class committed to taking an Active Break every day over the four weeks. The benefits of this are improved concentration in class, improved fitness and improved long term health benefits. Classes used a variety of active breaks including running, dance and exercise breaks. Many classes used Go Noodle and ALL class ran a mile every day.
